Firstly a little reflection on the past 2 weeks, everything seems new but not really, it's been kinda overwhelming but I can't tell what I have really learned was new knowledge. Like what we did in CSC148 class, Python again, as we did in CSC108 but it seems that we look more into more details to our codes. For me, I was kinda lost for like 2 classes, daring at the screen wondering why were we doing this. But there's actually whole new concepts which I haven't paid attention to in CSC108, when I programmed in Python for the first time and amazed at everything Python can do, taking Python as a new toy, which brought me lots of fun.(indeed) But in this semester I'm really learning how to behave as a programmer and digging deep.( Okay I'll halt here, this shouldn't be a emotional reflection.)
So, I'll talk about the Object-Oriented Programming, aka OOP. It's a programming paradigm in which every single thing is taken as an object, which means it has its own methods and attributes for programmers to use. Thus it's quite handy and of course cuts time, and allows inheritance of methods from superclass to subclass to happen. Python is the only language I know about, and I remembered when I first used strings and lists and their built-in methods, I took it for granted that Python treated different objects differently, since it's so natural. It's like people defining things in the real life, for example we define pencils, ballpoint pens and brushes as "writing materials" and that they are totally different from sushi and ramen.( Okay, this might not be a very good example but still..) Anyway, it's a very useful technique.
Actually I hope I can say more for next week's SLOG.
